Bells are used in rituals to clear negative energy and to bridge the physical and spiritual worlds. Art making for me is a ritual. I was inspired by ancient clay bell figures found at burial sites, along with my favorite childhood music box, and a beloved tiny bell figure given to me by kindergarten teacher. Isabell has legs for standing and legs for dancing. Her dress bears a sigil I created for the phrase, “as above, so below, as within, so without”.
