The book “The Great Mother: An Analysis of the Archetype” by Erich Neumann, has been a near constant source of artistic inspiration. It led me to give a considerable amount of time to imagine a time before we knew the sun was a star. What does it mean to create myths, rituals, and art in relationship with celestial bodies? All of this thinking was taking place in my writing and in my sketchbook, before I started working in clay.
